Prayer & Sacraments

Prayer is the heartbeat of a Crusader’s day. We begin and end each day in prayer. The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Chapel is located in the center of the school and students can stop by anytime to spend a quick moment with our Lord.
Once each semester, we pray a Rosary together as a school. There are numerous opportunities for individual group prayer throughout the year as well. We also enjoy hosting Wichita Adore Ministries for All-School Adoration twice per year. Every Tuesday, from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., students and parents participate in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Mt. Carmel Chapel.
Every Wednesday, our entire community celebrates Mass together. Parents and other guests are invited to join us for All-School Mass at 9:20 am in the main gym. We host a special Mass for parents in the fall and a Mass for grandparents in the spring. Daily Masses in our chapel are offered throughout the week, before or after school as our chaplain is available. Many athletic teams also attend Mass together during their seasons.
Confessions are available during most lunch periods and by appointment. We also offer penance services for students during the Advent and Lenten seasons.
In addition to these opportunities for sacraments, Kapaun Mt. Carmel also has one priest and two IHM sisters on staff who work closely with our students on a daily basis within the classroom and through extracurricular activities. Our students are also constantly reminded of how they can mold their lives in accordance with the Catholic Church through Holy Habits, CAP lessons on character and ethics, and Campus Ministry opportunities.
