O'Shaughnessy Media Center
The O'Shaugnessy Media Center was dedicated on October 23, 2005 by Bishop Michael Jackels. The construction of the Media Center was a part of Kapaun Mt. Carmel's Phase I expansion in 2002. The O'Shaughnessy family's generosity made this portion of the project a realization. Special thanks goes to Patrick O'Shaughnessy, Gerald O'Shaughnessy, Maureen O'Shaughnessy Young, John F. O'Shaughnessy Jr., I.A. O'Shaughnessy II, Kevin O'Shaughnessy, Lawrence O'Shaughnessy, Brian O'Shaughnessy, Michele O'Shaughnessy Traeger and the I.A. O'Shaughnessy Foundation.
The expansion in 2002 added the Science & Technology wing, which houses the O'Shaughnessy Media Center in addition to an upstairs used for science classrooms, and an unfinished basement that includes a FEMA shelter. The construction converted the property to 143,000 square feet, and brought the capacity of the building up to 1,000 students. By 2010, the Commons and Coach Herm & Jackie Bachrodt Athletic Complex had also been completed, adding more than 43,000 additional square feet.
