CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to the 2018-19 staff of the Paladin whose publication was named a Pacemaker Finalist from the National Scholastic Press Association.  The distinction marks the Paladin as one of the top 49 of high school newspapers in the country and is akin to the Pulitzer Prize for scholastic journalism.  Top editors were Hannah Harpel, Thomas Searl and John Biehler.  The Paladin also received a Gold Medalist critique from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.

Congratulations to the freshman volleyball team for placing first at the North tournament on Saturday!  The varsity team placed fourth at the Valley Center tournament and the JV team placed third at the Winfield invitational.

Out of school date forms for Homecoming are available in the school office and are due by 3:30 pm on Monday, September 23.  Only juniors and seniors are allowed to bring dates from other schools.

Students interested in the Tutoring Club should sign up outside of Ms. Gengler’s room 100.  There will be a meeting this Wednesday, September 18 at 3:15 pm.  The club’s goal is to help tutor students of All Saints, and add tutoring at St. Margaret Mary and Holy Savior later in the year.

Attention juniors and seniors: KMC will soon be hosting its annual College Night this Wednesday, September 18 at 6:30 pm in the commons.  At this event, representatives from Kansas colleges such as KU, K-State, Newman, Friends, and WSU will give a presentation regarding how to apply for college, how to seek financial aid, college survival tips, and more.

JV Scholars Bowl practice will be held after school today in room 111.  Please be prompt!

A representative from Pittsburg State University will be visiting today during all lunches, for any students interested in the school.

Attention students from Magdalen looking for parish service hours. Magdalen is hosting volleyball matches from 8:30-3:10 this Saturday and is in need of people to keep score, and run the concession stand. Each match will take around 45 minutes. Contact the parish office if interested.

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to the cross country teams for their performance in Emporia on Saturday!  The girls varsity team came in third place overall, and the boys varsity team came in fourth place.  Individual medalists were: Addie Curtis in first place, and Erik Enriquez in fourth place.

Congratulations to the girls golf teams for winning their city league tournament yesterday.  Leading the way for the varsity were Abby Wolff and Alexa Garrett with scores of 40 and 42.  Leading the way for the junior varsity were Quynh-Thi Nguyen and Sophia Gimino with score of 46 and 49.  Great job to all the golfers for the good season they are having so far.  Good luck to the JV team as they compete in the Derby JV tournament on Thursday and to the varsity team as they compete in the Andover Invitational next Monday at Crestview Country Club.

Congratulations to the JV football team on their 24-14 win over West on Monday.

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to National Merit Commended Scholars: Patrick Dehner, Matthew Hunt, Lexi Pfeifer, Helen Tran, and Georgie Wilhelm.

Yesterday, the girls varsity tennis team defeated South, 9-0.  The JV team defeated South, 12-0.  Way to go, girls!

Congratulations to the varsity, JV, and freshman volleyball teams for their victories over South and Northwest last night.

Congratulations to the boys varsity soccer team for beating West, 4-0.  David Arriaga scored one goal and Kevin Black scored three goals.  Congratulations to the boys JV soccer team for defeating West, 6-0.  Chi Momah led the way with four goals while An Tran scored one and Gabriel Grajeda scored a penalty kick.

CONGRATULATIONS

The girls varsity tennis team took second place as a team at the Ark City Invitational yesterday.  Individual finishes were: Clara Whitaker - first place singles, and Reagan Boleski - second place singles, Claudia Fury and Ally McMahon – ninth place doubles, Gabby and Sabrina Searl – 19th place doubles.  Congratulations!

Congratulations to the girls JV tennis team, who participated in two different tournaments yesterday, where they had many individual top three finishes!

Congratulations to the boys varsity soccer team for beating Northwest 5-0.  Ian Murry, David Arriaga and Ben Bombardier each had one goal and Kevin Black had two goals.

Congratulations to the JV girls golf team for winning the Derby Invitational yesterday! Medal winners were Sophia Gimino in first place; Ellie Frey in third place; Madelyn Engel in fifth place and Kate Wilson in ninth place.
