Catholic Diocese of Wichita Scholarships

College Board Opportunity Scholarships
This new scholarship program guides you through the college planning process and offers you a chance to earn money for college for each action you complete.  For more information or to begin this program, click HERE.

Hispanic College Institute
Fort Hays State University will be hosting a four-day residential summer Hispanic College Institute for sophomores and juniors.  Attendees will learn more about the admissions process and the overall college experience.  The event is entirely free, and includes food and transportation to Fort Hays.  Applications are due May 1, 2019.  To apply or get more information, click HERE.

Westar Energy Scholarships
Westar Energy is offering six Craft Scholarships (linemen, power plant operators and wind energy technicians) in 2019 valued at $3,000 each and renewable for one additional year.  More information may be found HERE.  The deadline to apply is March 1, 2019.

St. Isidore's Day at K-State
Attention Juniors and Seniors who may be attending K-State for college!   On Friday, February 15, 2019, K-State will hold a Campus Involvement Day featuring St. Isidore’s Catholic Student Center.  The morning will begin at St. Isidore’s and includes a daily Mass, meet and greet with the St. Isidore’s staff and presentation that gives an in-depth look at how K-State students grow in their Catholic faith.  The rest of the day will be spent on K-State’s campus where students will enjoy lunch at Kramer Dining Center, tour campus, and meet with academic departments.  To register or get more information, please click HERE.

Kansas Securities Commission 2019 Essay Scholarship Contest
Kansas High School seniors are invited to participate in The 5th Annual Kansas Financial Scholars Essay Scholarship Contest! The Kansas Securities Commissioner (KSC), the Kansas Bank Commissioner (OSBC) and the Kansas Insurance Department are partnering to award five scholarships to five eligible Kansas high school seniors. Awards are as follows: 

First place: $3,000
Second place: $2,000
Third place: $1,000 
Fourth place: $1,000 
Fifth place: $1,000

To be eligible for a scholarship, essays must be submitted on or before the deadline: 11:59 pm CST, Monday, April 1, 2019. 

Forget Me Not Scholarship
The Forget Me Not Scholarship Fund was created in 2002 for the purpose of enabling young men and women in the state of Kansas to enroll in an accredited college, university, seminary, junior college or vocational technical college in the United States. Two $500 scholarships are awarded annually.  Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.  The application must be electronically submitted at by noon on March 8, 2019.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority
Wichita Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. invites high school seniors to apply for our annual scholarship.  The form is available at Please complete the application and submit by March 8, 2019
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority
Following the principals and leadership of our Founders we are honored to offer
scholarships to minority students pursuing higher learning in education, fine arts, and
leadership. Each scholarship is available for award to minority high school seniors pursuing a
2-year or 4-year degree at an accredited college or university in the fall of 2019.

Application deadline for 2018 – 2019 scholarship application: February 15, 2019. Applications received after the deadline may be
considered if funds are available.
The Kansas Contractors Association
The KCA is offering a minimum $2,000 scholarship for any student enrolled in a construction management, construction science, construction engineering technology or related field of study at an accredited Kansas university, community college or technical college.  Interested students should pick up an application from their counselors by March 15, 2019.
The Kansas Crime Stoppers Association offers two $500 scholarships to college-bound students.  Application details are available with school counselors.  The deadline for submission is March 25, 2019.
