**********FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE******************

April 16, 2008

Wichita, Kansas

David W. Kehres has been hired as Principal of Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School.  Mr. Kehres will officially begin his duties on July 1.

In making the announcement to the faculty, staff and other interested parties this morning, KMC President Mike Burrus commented “Following in (retiring Principal) Dr. Dennis McGuire’s footsteps will be a monumental task; David Kehres is up to that task and I have every confidence that he will be a successful and effective leader for our school.”

Mr. Kehres previously provided 14 years of service to the school during two separate stints, first as a biology teacher and then as an administrator.  He left KMC most recently in 1997 to return to his hometown, Olpe, KS, to serve as Principal of the local elementary and high school.  For the past three years, he has served as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Winfield High School.

Mr. Kehres and his wife, Karen, have two teen-aged sons, one who will be a senior in high school next fall and the other who will be a freshman.  They are a family of great faith; in fact, Karen works at the parish school in Olpe.  David has served his parish as a lector and a member of the parish council, and has also been active in fundraising and social projects for the parish.

Speaking about his new assignment, Mr. Kehres commented “I am humbled and overwhelmed with the opportunity to return to Kapaun Mt. Carmel, a school I have always loved.  I look forward to working with the faculty and staff once again, many of whom I know so well.  KMC has such a long, rich tradition of success in all areas, and I am anxious to continue building on the momentum created by Dr. McGuire and the current administration.”

Mr. Burrus also announced that Athletic Director John Heise and Assistant Principal Chris Bloomer will be returning in their respective roles for the 2008-09 school year, and that he is working to expand Associate Principal Cameron Carlson’s responsibilities at the school and at the Catholic School Office.
