At the national debate tournament in Dallas this weekend, Bobby Phillips and Dominik Lett had a 5-1 record through preliminary rounds and finished in the top 16. Dominik was 11th speaker and Bobby was 7th. Congratulations! 


A representative from Villanova University is visiting during lunch today.

The peanut butter drive runs through Friday at 7:45 am. It is a house competition so please put your house initials on the top of all the jars. Students who want to help deliver peanut butter to Catholic Charities Friday morning must have a completed permission slip. Permission slips are available in the office.

There is a drum line meeting today in the auditorium at 3:45. Anyone who is interested in joining is encouraged to attend.

The Red Cross Club will meet Wednesday after school in room 201. All members wanting to volunteer at the blood drive must attend. Any StuCo member wanting to volunteer should also attend the meeting.

Student Ambassadors - please sign up for grandparents’ day outside Mrs. Sloan’s office.

Attention all Robotics members: There will be a meeting today after school in room 224. We will be sorting, cleaning, and tweaking the robot, so expect to work for at least one hour. If you cannot attend, you will need to see Mittman or Ritterhouse to determine how you will make up the needed time.

Costuming Club will meet today in room 208 at 3:10.

Grandparents Day is coming! You’re grandparents are invited to join you for Mass and a reception on Wednesday, October 25. We need pictures of you with your grandparents to be included in the video. Please email a picture of yourself with your grandparents to Mrs. Sloan by Thursday, October 19. If you do not have a grandparents able to attend, please consider Foster Grandparents. You will be paired with a senior from the Catholic Care Center for the morning. You’ll make a new friend and be part of the Grandparents Day festivities. Limited signups are outside Mrs. Sloan’s office.

The Wichita Legal Professionals organization is offering two $500 scholarships to students who are interested in pursuing a career in a legal field or law-related business career. See your counselor if interested.

KU School of Engineering and KU Office of Admissions are hosting an Engineering Academic Showcase, on Monday, October 23 at Textron Aviation, One Cessna Blvd, in Wichita. There will be current KU engineering students and faculty, and KU engineering alumni at the event to mingle and also participate in a Q&A panel. Light refreshments will be provided.
