If you mentioned the late Ed Kriwiel to most people in the KMC community, you would most likely get a glance of recognition for this KMC Hall of Famer and his contribution to the school. Ed was the football coach from 1969 to 1990, and from 1970 to 2007 remained the boys golf coach. He began coaching girls golf in 1997. Ed is the father of Kathy, Jane, Ann, Pete, Mike, Julie, Sarah, Molly and Suzanne, all graduates of KMC between 1973 and 1983. Ed Kriwiel was taken to his heavenly reward on December 2, 2007.
Ed Kriwiel’s contributions to KMC were significant, long-lasting and memorable. From 1969-2007, as coach and Athletic Director, Ed gave his very best to KMC.
For this reason and many more, the KMC Booster Club has chosen to honor our friend, coach and teacher, Ed Kriwiel, by naming the annual golf tournament the KMC Ed Kriwiel Memorial Golf Classic. This year’s tournament will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at the Tallgrass Country Club.
